NJ Casino Revenue Seesaws as iGaming Suppliers Flood US Market

Caesars Atlantic City. According to the most recent report from New Jersey’s Division of Gaming Enforcement, Internet gaming raked in $187.9 million for April. Those numbers, reported by casinos and their partners, reflect a growth of 18.2% when compared to $158.9 million reported a year ago (April 2023).

For the year-to-date period, the Internet Gaming Win is $750.7 million, reflecting growth of 21.1% when compared to $620.1 million for the prior year-to-date period.

Meanwhile, the revenue win for the nine land-based casinos in Atlantic City was $216.8 million for April, reflecting a decrease of 6.3% when compared to $231.5 million reported in April 2023. iGaming, also known as Internet Gaming or online casinos, has been hugely popular in New Jersey since it launched in 2013. In 2023, iGaming revenues in New Jersey reached almost $2 billion, with online slots revenue jumping 15.9% to $1.89 billion.

In an attempt to keep a level playing field between land-based casinos and online, Atlantic City properties continue to explore ways to engage with online players through their casino floors.

In February, Caesars Entertainment, Inc. and PlayAGS, Inc. celebrated the launch of the new slot game?Rakin’ Bacon Odyssey. The game is a brand extension of the popular Rakin’ Bacon game, a title that’s become a fan favorite across numerous casino floors.

The new Rakin’ Bacon Odyssey embraces the idea of “omnichannel jackpots,” meaning the game’s jackpot on the casino floor is connected to online players.

International Game Technology introduced the first omnichannel wide area?progressive jackpot?in March 2023 with one of their Wheel of Fortune slots in New Jersey. The omnichannel setup enables players in New Jersey to spin for large-scale wins on games with a combined jackpot between the land-based and online versions of slots.

Flood of iGaming Suppliers

The U.S. has witnessed a constant flow of online game suppliers looking to penetrate iGaming states. Seven U.S. states currently allow iGaming; Connecticut, Delaware, Rhode Island, New Jersey, Michigan, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania.

Sweden-based Supremeland Gaming, Inc., recently launched three new slot games in New Jersey. The three games, Wild Quad Squad, Red Panda Rising, and Munition Mine, are live in the Garden State through a partnership between Supremeland and EveryMatrix.
