WSOP Not Canceled Due Coronavirus Outbreak

The epidemic of coronavirus has interrupted big poker competitions like the World Series of Poker?while other?public events are canceled or delayed.

However,?unlike other sporting competitions, the World Series of Poker will start in an online mode like all of the other tournaments as it still can be done from the comfort of the players’ homes.

WSOP launched an online poker set of 18 rings for players in New Jersey, Nevada, and Delaware. In fact, the Online Super Circuit Series began on?Saturday and runs through March 31.

The prices?range from $215 to $1,000 for such online poker games. On March 29 the Online Circuit Main Event champion is qualified to compete for the Global Casino Championship 2910-20. For the 18-event online poker series, the person who collects the most points also qualifies for the GCC.

The Winner of Each 18 Competitions Will Be Awarded a Ring

In these?series are promised more than $1 million in cash, and the winner of each of the 18 competitions will receive a ring.

Online poker is not widely accessible in several states?and therefore,?residents?of only three states are eligible for the new online WSOP event.

The planned U.S. stops in Las Vegas and Hollywood, Florida, for the World Poker Tour main tour were canceled, as were the DeepStacks tournaments in Hanover, Maryland; Jacksonville, Florida, and Lincoln, California. Many WPT activities around the world have either been canceled or delayed too.
